It's been a long time since I made a post on here, so I figured I'd make one. Today, it's a continuation on my last post here. Since I've getting tired of explaining this on the forums, I have somewhere to reference each week this subject comes up.
Gnomes:
This is a continuation of my why certain race/class combos just won’t work blog. Today, I want to talk about why gnome shaman and gnome druids do not make any kind of sense at all.
So gnomes: short and annoyingly cute (at least the females are). Their early origins: they were basically robots (mechagnomes) until they suffered from the Curse of Flesh. Unlike goblins, gnomes did not start out as a primitive race.
Now, on the subject of shaman: if you have ever noticed, MOST of the races that can be shaman (at least Horde side) started out as a primitive race. One of the big things concerning shamanism: shaman have a bond with the spiritual world.
Gnomes are more scientific in nature. When you think scientifically, you tend to question things like the spiritual world. Yes, I know: gnome priests. From wowpedia:
“Unlike humans, dwarves and draenei, gnomes are not able to follow the Light devoutly enough to become paladins. They may still wield holy powers as priests, but seem to consider its healing abilities more like medicine than magic.”
What this means is basically they do not have enough of a spiritual connection to consistently utilize a paladins powers. The same can be said for calling upon the elements.
This can also apply to druidism- which is a very similar parallel to shamanism (they technically aren‘t the same thing, however, they are closely related).
Does it makes sense on why this race/combo just doesn’t make sense?
