Look, "raiders" it's like this:
There are people in this game that aren't interested in submitting to your schedule anymore. They did that for years and just got tired of the whole scene. LFR let's them do this on their own time.
There are also people that work shift work out there that cannot or do not have time for organized raiding. If you were on your feet for 8-12 hours a night, would you want to try and organize a raid? If you say "Yes" then you have no earthly idea what a shift job is.
In my opinion, the "I pay $15 bucks a month" argument is a legit argument no matter how you feel about it. Those people didn't feel they were getting their money's worth. But this really isn't a debate about that.
I remember back in Lk when I was still doing shift work. When I could raid, some of these groups would take 45 minutes to put together. Why? Because it they were looking for people that were geared (in some cases overgeared) for it. Also because you'd always have those one or two people that decided it was taking too long, so they would ninja log.
Once the group was finally put together, then you had to wait on people to actually get to the portal to start summoning the people that were still in town. Why? Because people are lazy.
Once you would finally get people in to the raid, you'd end up having this: "Sorry guys- I have to go." Which meant the raid leader would have to go back out into town to find another person. Then, of course, you'd have to summon them back.
An hour and a half later, the raid would finally start. You spent 10 minutes downing trash.
Then you would get to the boss and the raid leader would explain what was going on. That usually took another 5 minutes. This was with each boss (not excluding the time it took to find yet another guy because someone left because the boss didn't drop what they wanted).
How it is with LFR:
1. Depending on your role, you spend anywhere between 3-30 minutes waiting for the queue to put a group together.
2. Trash takes about 5 minutes in LFR (depending on which boss you're at).
3. A typical LFR run takes 30 minutes per wing. You can drop at any boss and no one minds because there is always someone in queue to replace them. Unlike a traditional pug, the raid leader doesn't have to go to town.
4. Unlike a traditional raid, you don't have to hope/wait for your raid leader to schedule the next run.
^This is perfect for someone who quite honestly does not want to spend an hour and a half of their life waiting for a raid group to get to the raid.
I'm perfectly fine with LFR being in the game. The people that seem to have the problem with it are "raiders" that claim they are forced to do it or those folks that feel their self worth in a video game is important to their self esteem (seriously, go see a therapist if this is the case).
If you feel someone is making something MANDATORY for you, find a better guild.
Also on the whole legendary argument:
You should be glad Blizzard made it easier for you to finish the quests. But be fully honest: the legendary is not mandatory- period. Especially if you aren't doing heroic modes. BUT: Blizzard decided to try something different this expac, just because you don't think casuals or normal raiders shouldn't get these things, it doesn't mean jack to Blizzard.
